PH levels in grass are very important for the health of your grass. You can adjust your lawns PH by adding Lime to raise PH levels and iron to reduce them. Most grasses need a PH of 6.0 through 7.2. Apply fertilizer in small amounts, heavy amounts of fertilizer can burn and even kill grass with excess. Make sure lawn gets plenty of water before sunrises and after sunset to insure absorption and mow high for reduction of weeds.

Gardening can be fun for the whole family. When starting your first garden begin with good soil. Soil is the foundation to the health of your future plants. If you are an urban gardener consider planter pots. Pick pots that are a cool color to reduce heat absorption. Choose your favored plants and be sure to give your plants plenty of water.

When purchasing plant’s look for signs of bugs and overall quality of the plant as a whole. Choose healthy plants that are local and resistant to diseases in your area. Plant the plants in the right locations according to temperature. Rotate annual plants so food and flowers are not grown in the same location every year.

Before mowing pick up any sticks and rocks. Keep your lawn mowing blade sharp and set your deck high at about 2 inches or 3 inches. Do not cut grass too short because this can prevent grass growth for up to two weeks making the grass less green. Choose a nitrogen sulfate to fertilize your grass with a balance fertilizer to keep your grass green longer. Give grass plenty of water, you can check your grass moister by seeing if the grass springs back up after walking on it.
